Welcome to Mineville

Mineville first appeared in February 2012 when Minecraft was still only at version 1.0. The server has seen so many changes since then. What started out as a basic server with absolutely no plugins and very few players has now become really popular with the regular players as well as those who newly join. We have had a number of map resets due badly griefed landscapes and the lack of protection plugins. The server has become more protected over the past year due to trial and error and the commitment of the valued staff who watch over the server when I am unable to. There are a small number of staff who watch over the server and keep it safe from those who don't obey the rules or simply want to ruin it for everyone else.
Mineville is pretty laid back. There's always plenty of land to build on unlike some other servers I have been on where everywhere is protected and it takes you forever just to find a piece of land you can call home. This is only a small server which can roughly handle between 20 to 30 players at any one time due to the limitations to my hardware and broadband connection. If you would like to help keep my server running, you could always leave a donation. It doesn't even have to be a big donation. If everyone made a contribution I would be able to pay for a faster connection and upgrade the hardware.
The server is currently running on a laptop that was given to me as spares. Anybody who donates will be granted OP which would allow Creative in all worlds along with some other privileges.

Some of the main features my server hosts are as follows:

Residence
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

Lockette
The purpose of this plugin is to restrict access to the contents of chests, dispensers, furnaces, and doors without the use of a database to track containers. To use, simply place a signpost on the floor directly beside a chest or other container to be locked. Enter [Private] as the first line. Your own name will automatically be entered on line 2 as the chest owner.
Optionally type in the full names of two other users allowed to access the chest's inventory on lines 3 and 4.

Factions
This plugin allows you to create your own faction. The more followers a faction has the more land the faction can claim. The risk for griefing is low in claimed land since only the faction followers can build there. Factions can forge alliances and declare themselves enemies with others. Land may be taken from other factions through war.

Dynmap
A Google Maps-like map for your Minecraft server that can be viewed in a browser. Easy to set up when making use of Dynmap's integrated webserver which works out-of-the-box, while also available to be integrated into existing websites running on Apache and the like. Dynmap can render your worlds using different renderers, some suitable for performance, some for high detail.

ChestShop
A simple, yet very powerful system for making physical shops using signs and chests.
It's never been that easy to create shops! With features like shop protection and anti-lag protection, you won't have to worry about your server's economy anymore!

PlotMe
PlotMe, a multi-world plot management plugin. Each plot world has its own configurations. Each plot is also protected and only the owner can build on it. The paths/road surrounding the plots are protected against any type of griefing.

Dungeon Maze
Dungeon Maze is a world generator for Minecraft, it's a CraftBukkit plugin. Dungeon Maze generates an infinite world with a lot of cool and strange stuff in it. The world contains 7 layers of epicness, each layer does have different content. All the layers contains a lot of Monsters, but also a lot of treasures. It's a very cool map to explore with some friends. Give it a try! Will you survive?

Subterranea including Giant Caves and Toxic Skies
Subterranea is a modification of the Vanilla terrain generator that switches the above and below ground spaces so your world has 192 layers below sea level and 64 layers above. Great for Mole Man worlds.
Giant Caves is a bukkit mod that creates giant underground caves in the world. The caves are generated using Perlin noise seeded by the world seed. Caves are unique to each world.
Toxic Skies is a Bukkit plugin that makes the world a harsher and more dangerous place. Players are forced to survive underground or else be destroyed by the elements.
